The 22nd Annual Brown University Spring Thaw Powwow is on Saturday April 12th 2025!
Brown's Annual Spring Thaw Powwow began in 2003 by a group of Native Students. It is an event that has grown to draw in over 650 attendees from the Brown community and the broader Northeast Native community. The Annual Spring Thaw Powwow is the biggest event for the Native students on campus yearly. This Powwow provides an inclusive space for Indigenous communities and their cultural practices including traditional dances, songs, drums, foods, and crafts. Powwows have held and continue to hold significant value. Not only is this event for the native communities but everyone. Through attending this event, people have the opportunity to learn about Native and Indigenous heritage through dance, song, and food. This is an important gathering where resources are shared and the whole Brown community can join in celebrating Native and Indigenous heritage.
